I have a question i need answering ASAP! Wheels are off the car lol.

Probabley a VERY simple thing but i dont know much.

I got told to check my ARB due to a squeeking noise, now i have the wheel off and cant see what im meant to be looking for.. i was told to look for a 13mm bolt but it isnt where i thought it was..

So can someone tell me where i need to be looking to tighten my ARB please.7

    many thanks

here we go, basically the same as the one in that other thread, is a tiny bit different though..

from reading a different thread it says its the right hand bolt you undo? This is tight as foooook, do i still take it out or do i leave it? I only have normal grease no copper grease.

if its so tight, is it not this thats causing my squeek? I was told if i rock the car and it still does it then its surely this which it does a little bit when i rock the car.

sorry mate i thought u was doing the front anti roll bar, am not 100% on the back ones, cud be the bearings thts causing the squeek

I been reading this thread about it and from peoples replies im well confused! some people are saying theres only a bolt on one side and the other is covered up and then some people say theres one on each side.. well blags your head when you dont have a clue what your doing lol. I'll just leave it and get someone else to check it.

There was grease all over the rubber grommet cos i got ricky p to check it a while ago but couldnt see or feel jack shit behind the rubber grommet, seemed like there wasnt anything behind it and definately wasnt no 13mm socket behind there lol it wouldnt even fit in.. it must be one of the ones either side of the rubber grommet but then i thought the ARB was in the middle of the axle and the bolts either side of the grommet just seem to be holding other parts on.. fook it, i dont have a clue i'll let someone who knows have a look at it lol.

The torsion bar sits behind the rubber grommet. You can use a bolt/washer/socket combo to pull the anti roll bar out from there. The bolt that comes loose and can cause the noise is the one about 2" to the right hand side of the hole where the grommet goes.

The other bolt about 1" to the left is securing the the passenger side torsion bar.

Don't give up with stuff mate, it's a constant learning process

Thanks for that info, i understand what each bolt is now. Dont really know how you go about doing the bolt/washer/socket combo though is it different on a VTS? Do i need to bother with that or just make sure the bolt on the right was tight? Cos that was really tight.. and do i have to check both sides or just passenger side?

If the passenger side was tight should i check drivers side?
