Important! : ohhh dear.... torsion bar problems

    ive been trying to lower my rear beam... ive hit my self in the face with a lump hammer and snaped the bolt in the end of one of the bars... and it still wont come out, ive got a spare bar thats not the problem but how can i get this one out ive hit it tryed making a puller ect ect but no sign of movement....


    i have lowerd one befor but this ones a tough one....

    alrite mate its in peaces atm... and one of the bolts have snaped inside one of the bars so i cant drive it anywhere... its outside my friends...

    Ahh, what you need my friend is something like this



    I did a torsion bar on a 106 earlier, M reg, so 16 years they've not moved for. Pulled them straight out. I'm tempted to get some made up and sell them, the one i had made for myself seems to work a lot better than one's i've bought. The one above is one i bought.

    How have you managed to snap a bolt in the end?

    Is it one of the bolts that you're trying to get out and its just snapped when trying to undo?

    Or have you been attempting to use the socket method to remove the torsion bar?

    i was hitting the one of the torsion bars out "but i had left a bolt in the end so it didnt damage the threads ive lowerd my other one fine it just this bean dnt wanna give lol. ive got one of the bars out just cnt get the last one out
    =( ive just been up and sprayed loads of wd-40 over the ends ..

    i think i just need a really good bar to smack it...

    ive tryed the socket trick its just not pulling out lol when i tryed the socket it just striped the thread off the bolt ....

    ohhh ive never come across one this bad lol and its off a 99...

    how did u get it out mate im doin my bearin in my axle and it just int moveing at all can any one help me please even come down and help me id sort u out for it :-)
