Choices are a dimma grille which you can buy which replaces the standard one but it is de-slatted and de-badged. Or my personal preference would be to keep the chevrons but paint the slats the same colour as the car so everything blends in or de-slat and mesh it but keeping the chevrons. You could also spray the chevrons if you are colour coding things.

Could always keep the slats but have them the grille the same colour as the car so it blends in nicely then put black chevrons on that? Saves de-slatting.

Dimma grills look good if painted the same colour as the car

I meshed my grill first time round and to be honest it looked utterly gash. I did a bloody good job if i say so myself but it still looked DIY. If i were you i would just spray the full standard grill gloss black like mine.

    Euro style grill

that looks good pred how did you do the slats never seen it like that befor

its basically made from 2 grills mate

i made the dimma part by fibreglassing over it

the slats were cut out of the donor grill to make one continuous, have to be cut as near to the chevrons as possible as there thicker from around there

heres a few pics of it in the making

Basic mock up, you can see the bits ive cut out on the other grill and they are welded together with a soldering iron lol

Fibreglassed up to stregthen with just the resin filling in any gaps

    Filler applied

Sanded ready for primer (bar a few more sanding parts)

    In primer then paint
