squeaky wheel bearing possibly. My rear drivers side squeeks now and tthen, No play in it to warrant changing it but it does get frustrating

    I don't understand it?

Only squeeks when the suspension compresses so wouldn't of thought the bearing?

Has to be something on the suspension?

    WD40 anyone? Haha

Oh dear, sounds like the bearings in the torsion bar have gone.

I had this problem and its the most annoying thins in the world, had to replace the torsion bar in the end which set me back 350£. If i were you i would ask the mechanic to check the bearings in the torsion bar, but if its a really annoying relelentless squeak over any slightly rough road surface then it will defo be it.
Hope this helps! Prepare for a big bill!

I had a re-con in which the bearings went in the first 2 months of getting it back, sometimes the dodgy dealers dont even bother replacing the bearings, tell you they will send you it pre-lowered, and then as soon as the bearings are put under the strain of being on a lowered torsion bar instead of a standard one they break under the increased wear and tear. Ended up spending 750£ on torsion bars as they then told me that because it was loweded it wasn't under warrantee... needless to say i got my second one from another supplier.....

i had this exact problem. turned about to be the anti roll bar. follow this guide basically. i put a bolt and socket through the middle of the anti roll bar, tightened it a few turns and then tightened the end plate a bit more (was loose). snaps easily though so be careful

Just get the rear wheels off again and tighten the two bolts on the end plates of the anti roll bar. The sqeaking should instantly dissapear. very common problem after lowering as once the anti roll bar has been free'd up during the lowering process, it is very easy to work loose when driving. The ARB runs through the middle of the rear axle and the end plate bolts are closest to the wheel on the cam shaped ARB end plate.

i had this problem too and it turned out to be 1 of my shockers , cost me £80 all in

    So many options...

Going to rule out wheel bearing and shocker.

Shockers new, and it only squeeks when the wheel goes over a rougher road

    Im thinking the arb tbh

when i had the squeak, i was definate it was the anti roll bar end plate becuase i could hear the same noise when i shook the trailing arm up and down when the wheel was off

Ive had the rear wheel of and wiggled the plate seems solid could it still be that?
  25. #25
is the bolt tight? dont snap it though, what i did

with the wheel off, push the trailing arm upwards as if it were going over bumps
  26. #26
Yeah the plates themselves will always feel tight. you need to check the bolt is tight. Yeah LSOfreak haha i snapped two of these bastards haha, just be careful.

Can anyone clarify EXACTLY what you have to do to tighten the ARB plates? Want to get it sorted today

Be extremely careful when doing them up !

If they are rusty bolts do not take any chances get a heat gun out and loosen any loctite that might possibly on the threads then get a new bolt tighten up and set the torque on the torque wrench to 25nm.

Had the same problem recently, turned out the arb had worked loose and was poking out the axle and was rubbing on the inner of my tire!! Good job i noticed it in time!! Took the passenger wheel off bashed the arb back in and re-fitted a new end plate bolt, sorted!!
