Car idles irratically when hot

   My car always starts to idle irratically when the engine starts to warm up, it happens far more in the summer. It dosent bother me to much but every now and again im just sittin in traffic and my engine will just cut out and very rarely when i come to a stop which can be dangerous as you loose your brakes, power stearing etc , the majority of the time it dosent cut out but just jumps from about 10,000 rpm to about 4,000 then back up and repeats this until i move off. Any ideas ? cheers

   Hey Craig,
   
   Other things it could be:
   
   1) Oxygen sensor (aka Lambda sensor)
   2) Temp sensor
   
   But it is often as above ^^
