Newbie(ish) with a problem

    Hey all

I'm a relative newbie to the forum although I joined a while ago, never used the site.

    Just bought a 99 Vts.

Battery light is on constantly, power steering doesn't work, and occasionaly the clocks dont work, (rev counter and spedo both go to 0 momentarelly)

Read about the switched Ignition live fix, but I'm not sure if It's going to sort these problems,

    The interior fans are temprimental,

    Any help would be great.

Enjoying the VTS so far, but my arms are sore

    Hi,

    Check the fuses first: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...025#post875025

Battery light - may be the alternator, or connections between alternator & battery. This is a priority.
Power steering - could be the pump

The ignition 'fix' only works if ALL three of the symptoms (power steering, heater fan and heated rear window) exist: http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27609 but it sounds like your heater fans are working sometimes.

The others could be intermittent electrical connection problems.

Had an issue with mine where dials drop to 0 - turned out to be the alternator, it was overcharging the battery! Ended up with battery acid all over the place! Also can cause airbag light and battery light to come on - Hope this helps . good luck

did the wiring mod last night,

It's sorted the power steering and the fans and rear window.

Dials still drop to zero, airbag light does come on, not very often,

I think it has the wrong battery, it has a very big GM batter in it.
