how do i get the lock out of this?

   need to get the lock out and put it on a standard cap..
   any advice..
   it doesnt have the normal clips a standard one does..

    If its an aftermarket fuel cap, its unlikly you'll be able to put a standard cover on using the lock.
    Does it take a different type of key to the rest of the car?

    well then just fit the standard one - you don't need to strip this one down.
    
    I don't think they can be stripped down - there's no reason too
