is this able to bolt onto a mk2 vtr?just wondering not looking for stupid replies of anyone cheers

Yes you can make it fit though its quite a lot of work, does not fit all that well and there not all that great. The best fit is to get a long drive nose made up for it but this is a expensive option.

This is NOT a modified Mini but rather a generic fit model of the same unit but you can see how the long drive nose makes it fit quite well. This next one is a mini one fitted.

    and

For low cost boost have you thought about a turbo? For most DIY jobs a low boost turbo is a simpler option. Or if money is no prob have a look at GMC supercharger kit for the Saxo. The centrifugal units are far more suitable for these cars.

I saw a vts on eBay before with the conversion a lot of messing he had extra pullts etc to drive supercharger and standalone ecu. There's s lot of dodgy bullshit kits people try and sell if you want big power get scooby etc or put s lump in be cheaper than supercharger

^^ It technically only needs one extra pulley, which is the one on the supercharger, so not that much messing about really. Most people run additional tensioners to prevent the belt flapping about.

    that saxo looks amazing
as for the boost just go turbo.if you want a bolt on kit. alot more simplier and standard engine.will run.6psi safely. i belive this will bring.a vtr to at least 130hp depending on exhaust

How much do the chargers from a G40 polo cost? I'd have thought they'd be a better match for the saxo engine bay providing they can make decent boost. I believe they are similar to a rotrex unit? That mini charger looks a like its mounted in a dodgy way on the 8v.

The mini chargers are shit anyway

Look for another unit, some of the merc ones are ok and can be picked up for about £100

    Nice bump btw

all eaton type units have same downsides --very large they get very hot and take more power to drive than a rotrex and require recirculation systems to kepp them happy
    look at std mini s/c --1598cc +eaton @14psi =160bhp @ fly
    saxo 1587cc +rotrex @7psi =180bhp@fly
I leave you to make your own conclusions
the reason why you can find mini s/c units so cheap is owners are dumping them for either rotrex units or fiting a different eaton type unit

its a totally different unit on the G40. There also notoriously short lived. So much so many G 40 have mini chargers fitted as a more reliable and powerful option when the original fails. But you could fit the G40 unit to the Saxo if you really wanted.

You say a diffrent eaton do you no which would suit the 8v best some of the m62 range look smaller. Also planning on a few ducts in the bonnet to try and keep it cool under there and running a frount mounet cooler for the inlet side

Yeah done a bit of looking into it, the g40 charger is a scroll type. Can imagine due its design its not the best for longevity
