Quick question on measuring up.

  1. #1
When measureing to see how low you car is going to be where do you start from the top of the alloy or the bottom of the arch. Cos getting a 50mm drop alround on a flatarch as ive been told thats as low as you can go on them. But measuring 50mm from the arch doesnt look like it has moved mouch were from the top of the alloy it sits just over the tyre

    Cheers

whichever way you measure, it will always be 50mm lower...? not sure i understand
  3. #3
From the top of the arch down is how low it's going to be surely

hmm well i must be crap at maths lol cos 50mm from the tip of the arch goes no were nrear the tire yet 10mm more sits right over. But vice vercer from the alloy uppwards 50mm sits over the tire

Just want it lowered but not pay all that and be dissapointed cos its only looks dropped abit

50mm on a flat atch with be fine mate if you go onto my progress thread robbie's flat arch mine is lowered 40mm and it good but using a tape measure u wont be able to see how low it will go

You must be tired, or a dumbass.

Measure from the arch down. Likely hood is it will not be bob on 50 mm.

Before it's lowered measure from the arch down, that will be where it should sit.

Simple mate, once its lowered theres no real way of measuring it

are you measureing down 50mm thinking thats where the tyre will sit? to measure a 50mm drop, you are lowering the body by 50mm, thus reducing the arch gap by 50mm. its simple subracting mathematics

I know how to measure 50mm but where to start from was my question plus seen a progress thread someone Rob posted here so got an insight.

I was told that my car can only be lowered 50mm on the front and what ever on the rear. But ive seen loads of flatarches that are lowered even 70mm front and 80 rear! sureley mine will go to 60mm
