Since it has started raining heavily i am getting water pouring into the car from above the headlining.I have pulled the front of the lining down and water is everywhere. It is dripping of the sunroof winder mechanism and the whole under roof is saturated.I cant pin point the leak.Has anyone had this problem and what is the cure as the carpets are saturated already

#3just get some sealer and seal it up
-
#4aerial base leaking, sunroof seal or corners of sunroof frame have rusted through, all possibilites when a saxo gets water coming in
-
#5Right I have siliconed the sunroof seal and top of windscreen .I have tried to blow air down the sunroof drain tube on passenger side but it seems blocked and the compressed air will not clear it.Can anyone tell me where the tube comes out at the bottom as i have tried sending wire down but it stops 3/4 way down?As i though i would push wire up from the bottom

#6this happened to me, thought it was aerial so resealed this, water was still was still getting in so got a guy who deals with sunroofs (professionally) to have a look and he advised me the sunroof had buckled (corners had come away from the actual bodywork) so he took out the entire sunroof, resealed/re-sat the frame onto the bodywork and not had a problem for about 10months now
cost me £120 as I had him come out to me

#7you 100% its not your arial? I just got some clear silicone and sealed it on the outside.
To check take the plastic cover from inside the car to reveal where the arial base is, just pour water over it and wait to see if it leaks. -
#8Would check aerial first. I've just got this problem since the heavy rain. My sunroof seal was split when i checked it. I opened it up and checked all around the seal. Have since re siliconed it up which has stopped most of it getting in for now.
Going to replace the whole sunroof and seal with one i got of ebay for a £10. Noticed a couple of my clips were broken as well so be easier to change it all. A new seal will cost you £50 + so prob worth getting a full sunroof unit with the seal from the scrappies or ebay. -
#9Definitley not the aerial as i can see it thru the hole in ceiling unit.I have tried to find where the water comes out at the bottom of the drain tube but there doesnt appear to be an outlet for the water so this could be the problem but dont know where the outlet would be located anyone know?

#10I have got exactly the same problem water is leaking in, Took the headlining out to get a proper look and the passenger side sunroof drain tube is blocked and cant seem to unblock it. Unwound a coat hanger and put that down it but the block must be further down than that. Also tried to blow it out with a compressor but no joy. Took the side skirt and arch liner out but cant find where this drain pipe drains..
Anyone know where this pipe drains before i take the drivers side apart to see where it drains that side..lol -
#11I have found where the tube ends.It runs into the sill box section (brilliant french idea)so can only clear from the top.I have cleared mine now by using 8mm mig welding wire .Push it right down prodding and twisting and eventually it will clear but you cant tell as the wire hits the sill. Then blow thru with compressor hey presto!!!!

#12Nice one guys cheers for all the advice iv got the same problems, il give them a go when it stops damn raining

#138mm mig welding wire??? Do you mean 0.8mm? Thought that would be to small flexi to clear the blockage but if its worked fair play..Quote:I have found where the tube ends.It runs into the sill box section (brilliant french idea)so can only clear from the top.I have cleared mine now by using 8mm mig welding wire .Push it right down prodding and twisting and eventually it will clear but you cant tell as the wire hits the sill. Then blow thru with compressor hey presto!!!!
Just picked up some Fence Restraining Wire like they use at the top of green wire fences from local builders merchant... smallest roll was 25 meters but only £5 + vat.... Will have a go once it STOPS BLOODY RAINING!!!! -
