rear axle loud bang

had this rear axle on the car now for about 2 years and it was not lowerd so had a lot of play in it then lee and willsy lowerd it 50mm for me and i think it may have been then could have been befor though, but basically since for every when i go over big speed bumps or down pot holes it makes a very loud bang - fitted new apex sport shock, powerflex mount and it had new torsion bar poles on it so does anyone know what it could be

have you checked the metalwork surrounding the beam mounting areas? done a couple of saxos/106s where the metal has corroded away letting the axle move up and down and made curious noises.

i fitted the axle and there was no corrosion and took it off a year ago to pain and fit new torsion bars then took it back off again to fit the powerflew mounts but all the time it just make the loud bang :@:@, thanks

Have you tried tightening the arb? Common problem that usually causes a loud clunk sound on uneven ground. Wouldn't expect anything else on the rear to make such a sound other than corrosion or have you checked since you fitted the beam that the beam bolts are tight enough

thanks all it was the arb in the end, its still a bit noisy but its no where near as loud now so i can live with it, because i am a bit heavy handed when i was tightening the bolt i done it too tight now the bolt just spins though ? it didnt snap and i cant get it out so i left in the the arb plate and put some silicone on for now, how can i get it out

Or willsy do you fancy giving me a hand ?
