    hi guys,

after a recent clean out of the garage i've found my mum has decided to check away the cat for my car thinking it was scrap metal -.- bad times

my vts is a 2002 and i have looked on ebay but it seems certain cats fit certain years of car..

    any advice would be welcome!

    cheers,

Have a look on eurocarparts.com and put in your reg it should come up with the correct cat.

You need the slightly longer CAT (2001 onwards) with the hole after it for the second lambda sensor.

theres 2 kinds, under the car, on the manifold. yours will be the manifold type one

give them the year of your car and reg then they will tell you what 1 is for yours.

Not totally true, as that isnt the case on ALL mk2 R's.

Ok, all 3 plug ECU MK2's then. Crossover period from MK1 to MK2 I'm guessing is the exception to the rule, as some MK2's left the factory with one plug ECU's and the CAT under the car.

My catalytic converter fails not because of aging. But I love her. I did manual checking first on the backpressure and the converter plugging. And I figure out that my car has been contaminated already, it is clogged and really old age, so gotta buy a new one online. Found one for only $40.

Maybe on a year 2000 mk2.. as that's the year they switched over.

Mine was a 2002, and 100% had the cat in manifold.
