WIll a different speedo work?

   I have a Westcoast and my speedo broke not long ago as im now aparently doing 70 when the car is off. when i went down the breakers they only had a VTR control cluster. Will that work if i fitted it? it has one more gauge then my old cluster so i wasnt sure if it would all work or not.
   
   Any help would be very much appreciated! Cheers

   Whn you say 1 more gauge mate which extra gauge is it?

   It'll be the tempreture gauge as early 1.1/1.4's had a warning light instead of the gauge i believe.

   Then it will work I had the same set-up with no temp gauge as such swapped over units & everything works fine.

   The current cluster i have had a temp guage, a speedo, a rev coutner and a petrol guage. the VTR one has an extra one but im not sure wot it is :/ and if i plugged it in im not sure if it would work or not :/

   Are you sure its a vtr cluster & not a vts cluster,because mine is a vtr cluster & has the things you have listed with an extra top gauge blanked out. (vts cluster) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/saxo-VTS-clock...item3cb49a05bb

   yea thats the one he showed me, but it was in white. if i got that would all the gauges work? including the extra one it has?

   also, if i have found a mk2 cluster, would that work in my mk1?

   Like this 1? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CITROEN-SAXO-V...item588c5627bf if so I think the colour has been changed I think Lockwood do a dial kit like this.As regards to the extra dial working i`m not sure.A mk2 cluster can be fitted but needs the wiring at the back changed(there was a guide few weeks back)O`h and the mk2 mileage will be different & is stored in the cluster.

    yea its exactly that so it would work i just need to change the wireing? i dont spose you would no how to go about that? :/ im useless navigating this site xD

    Also, if i did get a mk2 speedo do you think i can just buy an adaptor instead of doing alot of crimping and cutting?

    I don`t know if the vts cluster would be fully functional,as for adaptor looms I don`t think they exist.An auto electrician would be able to adapt it for you.
