Newman ph3 cams

   Hello, i'm thinking of buying some Newman ph3 cams but have a couple of questions.
   
   Are they just a direct replacement or do I need other items like different pullys etc.
   
   Also would it be fine to use with my standard ecu. It has been remapped but I believe with a generic map as was done through a laptop. Would this be better than the standard ecu map.

   Will go straight in yes, but would say need new followers, and also to get the best out of then need to get a re map and the can timing to gain the best result.

   You may also want to consider the Cat Cams 1321708 camshaft. Similar profile, tried and tested and with a solid reputation, and currently about £60 cheaper..

   Are these just a direct replacement aswell? Will I need any other items to fit? Also would my map be alright with these? I've recently just bought a supersprint race system off yourselves and I was very impressed with service so would happily give you my business again.

   They will run but lumpy, and personally I would not want to rev the car hard in case of fuel starvation at high revs. To get any decent gain you have to remap really.
   They again use standard springs, retainers and followers but you need to check condition as a matter of course when fitting camshafts, as well as changing the cambelt and tensioner.

   you might also consider our cams similar profile £240 inc vat .--cheaper still
   a generic map is never going to be as good as getting ecu live mapped on rollers --suck it and see --and remap if needed --impossible to more precise as neither you nor i know what is different about your ecu from std

   I got a set of used ph3 cams for 16v, new cam seals and a dastek piggy back ecu ready to be remaped for the cams, £200 delivered if interested. Brought them off here months ago and never got round to fitting them.
