Important! : my sock is in my engine!

   I found quite a large hole in the inlet manifold and decided to block it with a sock but it has now been found in with the pistons I have tryed to remove it but can't. Would it be better to get a new engine? If so where can I get 1 I have a citroen saxo vsx 1.4 and would any other engine fit?

   Well shouldn't of try to fill a hole with a sock bit silly that is.
   
   Would say maybe worth taking the head of check it all over, and see what what, best bet, could just get a second hand working engine aswell.
   
   Depends on what you want to pay.

   Presumably the piston is ceased and the engine knackered. Almost always cheaper these days to replace the engine, since standard engines can be obtained for less than £250 depending on spec and condition?

   inlet manifold off, rocker cover off, pry the valves open and pull the offending sock from the engine. How do i know of this..... boss of a haulage company i worked for ages ago started a Cargo up that i'd been steam cleaning and forgot that i'd bunged all the inlets up with rag to prevent water getting in, failing that,its time to get the head off. If i'd never seen it happen before, i'd say this was bollocks,sorry mate, can't help but lolololol

   Haha, sorry mustn't laugh ... but seriously yh, assuming the engine is totally seized and irreparable just dump a new engine in it (assuming the condition of the car is worth it). May even be a good opportunity for an upgrade!

   It worked for a bit haha, yea the car is in good condition appart from the engine, where's the best place to get a new engine? is a vtr or vts or vsx better? Can I get a bigger engine? I'm new to car as u can prob tell haha

    Get a VTR engine mate, theyre usually had for under £100 these days. Its not too hard to change an engine in a saxo.

    Not sure if your interested mate but brogan5050 is breaking my old vtr, he's selling engine, gearbox, wiring loom and ecu for £80. Nothing wrong with any of them as i previously owned it and run shweeeeeet
