Quietest Exhaust System

  1. #1
Looking for a full exhuast system dont want it to be overly load but looking for some decent gains.
    Any suggestions?
    Cheers

powerflow allow you to choose the noise of your exhaust and then they make it to the car.....average gains but the choice to your own sound is perfect
  3. #3
Seriously wouldnt choose powerflow, personally think its the exhaust pick of chavs.

Im a lover of a silenced magnex system, or if you can find a silenced piper system - even better!

My old Mongoose was pretty quiet, but they are expensive brand new.

My current setup on my VTR (Cat in stock mani, supersprint racepipe, OMP backbox) is quiet too, and only really makes much noise over 5k RPM

    powerflow = shit!

Magnex isnt that loud tbh especially on a VTR, and has a decent build quality.

powerflow is good, really good. Magnex imo for you.

nice peco system sounds nice, not too loud, but they are hard to find, magnex is probs your best option, cheaper and more common, nice sounds too
  8. #8
Magnex for sure. Near enough silent until you put your foot down.

supersprint mid silencer with KAM racing backbox.
We've got a batch of backboxes coming end of this week. The design has proven to give good gains - something you will not get from a powerflow exhaust unless you are very lucky

Go for Magnex i have a vtr with four branch exhaust manifold and a sports cat, gives a nice quiet hum and gets a little raspy when your put your foot to the floor....

ive found scorpion exhausts to be the quietest ive come across, especially the ones with the middle silencer,

powerflow exhausts suck arse dont buy one.

except being that its not a standardised design its like pick and mix. They dont have the facilities to make a decent mandrel bent exhaust system keeping the bore the same through the system. If you want a nice sound then go for it. If you want something which will guarantee gains then go elsewhere

i thought you could choice everything in the system?
MY mate spent £500 quid on one for his gti and it sounds the sex, best ive ever heard.

You can "choose" whatever you want, but you cant choose the twat that makes it. Theyre so shoddily put together at 9 out of 10 places.

As Kam says, they dont even mandrel bend the things, theyre an absolute joke.

i swear they did lol, maybe not then ,the noise is good though

Depends on where you go tbh, seen as powerflow is a franchise.

The one near me does manderel bend and are decent

I've heard they don't use stainless welds either, so your joins rot through
I agree with Kev, they're not standardised maybe you'll get a gain maybe it'll be worse than standard.
Does each bespoke exhaust system boast rolling road proof/roadtested for weeks to check for rubbing, resonance, possible crack formations etc. err.....no.
If you want something different then go for it, just don't complain when you've gone for a system which slows your gas speed & it's as flat as a turd

Thanks for all the comments, it looks like a magnex system is the one for me. I am looking at getting a raceland manifold and possibly a de cat, obviously this will increase the noise but hopwfully not by too much? Anyone with a similar set up that can give me an idea?
    Thanks again, much appriciated!

wel i have a 4-2-1 manifold - raceland for sale. brought it off kamracing around 2 months ago. done 200 miles on if that. will let it go cheap as i dont need it anymore. ill post a pic of it in a sec.

    Exactly

Why would an exhaust made a spotty teenager give proven gains over a system developed by reputable companies (Piper/Scorpion/Supersprint) that have spent months testing extensively and rolling roading to get the best out of the engine.

Dont get me wrong, there are some good powerflow dealers out there, but I bet I could count them on one hand.
