#2Got mine done for £120, but on a furio.
Which was better than a earlier quote of £300. -
#3£270 all in, the parts are a hell of a lot more than the 8v. Thats my price anyway.
-
#4fuck me thats expensive, first place i looked at was £250, eeeeeek
-
#5Be sure they're not just changing the belt itself though. you've got pulleys and water pump that should be replaced too.
-
#6Do it on your own, I did it some months ago, by myself for the first time. Before I was very afraid of it, but now I can turly say, that I would to it always again!
A clear mind, some good sorted tools and a pair of two right hands is recommend!

#8I do full cam belt kit change with water pump on a vts for about 220 quid. so it the cam belt ilder and tensioner water pump, all done.
All 8v is about 160 quid -
#9Might as well ask whilst we're on the subject...
Who is the recommend manufacturer/supplier for a cambelt kit for a 16v?

#11gates or skf
skf use gates belts but there own bearing -
#12Gates kit, but most other kits like skf there kits come with gates belts too, and skf make the ilder and tensioner in them kits.
I use skf Bearing everyday and are good bearings, so we use skf kits as it comes with a gates belt. -
#13I'd pay KrisB the 270 mate, did mine on my furio, was quick and confident about the whole thing and he's a great guy that knows what he's doing, changed my gearbox over too
