Important! : How to make it faster?

  1. #1
    Hi i got a 8v saxo with 90 hp.

I already got another manifold, 2" behind kat, and a Remus exaust.

What can i do to make my car faster ?
Without i would cost a lot of $$$$$$

cam it and get it remapped or do some searching

    whats remapped?

put on a dyno to get the best out of the ecu and cams but pointless on a standard car

if im honest without sounding a dick i would do some searching and look up on the net before you do any more to your car. no offence

    The cheapest mods are:

    Induction kit (enclosed)
    Mani (which you have)
Full exhaust with decat (do you have the cat on still?)

    Then comes Cams + Remap
These will set you back around £600-£1000

there is a thread all about extra power 'stickied' at the top of the engine section
    HERE

cheapest way is put a 16v engine in
  8. #8
Bang a 16v lump in in and get bodies and cams...straight through system and then realise its a saxo and what you have done

sell it. Buy something faster if you want a faster car but don't want to spend the money

Tuning cars genrally costs a fortune and if you've come on here to ask how to tune it cheaply you don't really have much of an idea on how to do it yourself.

there are cheap ways to make it quicker but if you can't do it yourself then it won't be cheap.

Best induction kit is the oem aribox with uprated panel filter, If you wanting better acceleration get a 1.1 box slapped in there aswell!

Sell up, buy a VTS. It will probably be cheaper to insure than an 8v with modifications (that is, enough modifications to give it a noticeable increase in performance).

shorter ratio gearbox, lightened flywheel, strip interior?

imo cheap power mods dont exist you either fork out to get it done properly or you buy cheap chinease ebay shit like electronic supercharges and powerchips and ruin your car costing alot more in the long run

if you want a cheaper way of makin the car faster do brakes, suspension and rip out all the un-needed interior a car that handles well will beat a standard car of more power (within reason)on a track

^^ same as above, if you wanna get some good power out of your car its gonna cost £££

so what i'd regard as something basic...

    cam's and a remap - looking about 150-160bhp on a vts

if you really wanna get some oomph then...

cams, remap, injectors, individual throttle bodies, 4-2-1 mani, decat ect ect - looking at about 180-190bhp again on a vts.

then if you wanna spend ££££ you can look at forced induction (turbo and supercharging)
but then you would be looking at forging internals, headworks & diffs!
