Buy a honda lmao, any reason why you want it so high?
  3. #3
just over time i plan to turbo or supercharge it and woud like a higher rev limit when i do and would just like some info on what i would have to do to make it safe at that rpm
not planning on doin it to a standard engine

do a power run once you have all mods done and only if peak power is at the limiter that is the only time you would need to raise it, no point straining the engine when it is not needed

oryt i was just thinking when its got a turbo it mite have abit of a higher peak power on it if it was running say about 9psi or something roughly
i dont know my plan yet
but if i did want a higher limit what involved init
  6. #6
No way standard vtr internals would take 8k rpm
  7. #7
thats why im asking i dont know as much as some of the people on here
your just telling me what i know already

as I said do all the mods first if you are wanting big power with a high limit I would say re-building the whole engine with low comp pistons ect if you are serious about it talk to somebody that you are getting the parts from such as gmc ect and they will advice you better as they do this kind of thing day in day out

well who is local that would be mapping or doing the work? better speaking to them because one company such as gmc would say use a dta management but atspeed would say omex for example

Cant speak for the vtr but the vts does.

Ive tried it once on an engine with standard internals, sod all power there. Only benefit possibly to be had is you can stay in 3rd on a 1/4 mile strip as usually you have to change just before the line.

yeah well different companys might have a different few on a part but either part would work fine if you get me? so I would speak to you're local company

not a remap company, ask a tuning company I said about asking a remap company when I used the ecu example.

your vtr being the 1.4 and 75bhp, IE furio.. there is no point turbo'ing as it will still be like a cammed vts proberly slower. There is no need for a 1.4 to rev to 8k rpm, it wont do anything bar scream it tits off and not move any faster

As the man said plus just drop a vts lump in & drive that for a while, then if you want more power speak to the pro`s.
