Changing backbox only for sound/looks - Magnex or Piper..?

    Alright,

    Read through about 100 threads of people asking what backbox etc to get so apologies.

    I'm changing ONLY my backbox mainly for cosmetic/sound (mine is rusty as shit and looks like balls).

    Basically I know nothing about cars so this is the conclusion I have drawn up from the reading i've done. Way to go is either full stainless steel Magnex or Piper. I want circular inrolled 3" probably. Dont want anything to ridiculous or chavvy so im swaying towards Magnex but really I want SOME bite to it so unsure hence why im asking advice.

    Ruled out cheaper exhausts like: Sniper, Sportex, janspeed, Ashley and supersprint due to chavloudness or just generally poor reviews.

    Views?

    Also what recommended cheap sites to get these... if i cant get a cheeky one from the trade forum ?

    supersprint is the best exhaust for the saxo you can get.
    But to answer your question, piper and i am selling one atm.

    I've got a Magnex 3" Inward rolled backbox that I'm selling atm, I've never had it on my car. So can't tell you personally of what it sounds like.
    But most people that have/had them, say they're not overly loud and are rather quiet with a deep tone.

    *edit, ill take a look on your sig link.. 'ang on.

    VTHall - looks good and im sure you will be able to shift it but I have my heart set on inward roll, that outward stuff just dont look right to me!

    Magnex all the way but don't be surprised if you don't really notice much difference by just replacing the backbox. To get any real changes to the tone you at least need to change the mid silencer too - and to get further changes to the tone you need a decat.

    The backbox changes the note.
    The decat changes how loud it is
    the manifold adds bhp and so does the decat simple.

    I love it how everyone is recommending what they are selling. I'm buying but i want a bloody unbiased opinion.

    I take it a decat isnt that expensive.. how hard is it to fit? I know im going to have to switch it when its MOT time so i guess thats more important

    decat is around 50/60 quid. depending on what make.
    to fit they take around 10 minutes or they could take an hour if you a spastic like clubbz...

    I'm only biased in the sense that the magnex is your best backbox.
