Feck you've done a good job of that dude!!

How many metres of wrap did you use??
  5. #5
Cheers dude, I got a 50ft roll and had a little bit left

Is there much benefit from heatwrapping a N/A engine exhaust?

I would never fit a stainless manifold without wrapping or coating it. Stainless transfers heat a lot better than cast which results in higher engine bay temps and higher air intake temps.

Quality coating is three times as much as a good quality wrap though

My wrapped manifold added 4bhp (rolling roaded before and after), im sure that would be less if it wasnt wrapped

that is some quality wrapping started doing it to mine other day but 2 of the pipes are really close together so cant fit wrap individuly on them 2 not unless i give it a lil tweek, is a supersprint mani as well.. whats urs as they seem very close together

Mine is a Raceland and I had the same problem dude, the first two tubes are VERY close. I just took my time and managed to squeeze just enough wrap in the gap to cover both pipes. I think I used something blunt to ease the wrap into the small gap.

no issues with tight areas that you cant wrap whan you coat them
  15. #15
does liquid coating do same effect as wrapping
  16. #16

    far better in many ways.

could you heatwrap or liquid coat a mild steel manifold? or would it being heat wrapped hold in any water when cold and just rust to death?

Never seen anyone liquid coat theirs before, would be interesting to put a temp gun on them both after a smashing round Cadwell

    Cadwell is my local.

I can go out do several laps pit in open bonnet and hold my hand 5mm above the mani withiut risk of burning myself. You try that on an untreated manifold

noob question! what does heat wrappin do...
  30. #30
^ Wraps the exhaust manifold to hold in as much heat as possible within the manifold so your engine bay doesn't get roasting hot and increase the intake temps, because a lower intake temp = more power as colder air is denser than hot air

Kinda like when at night you will notice your car pulls alot better than it does on a warm day
