possible piston ring ???

Right having problems with my vts.
After heavy accleration if i was to stop at a junction or a set of light after dipping the clutch so not to stall it would cut out now if i was driving nice with no thrashing it would drop to idle just fine.
Soooo ive replace my idle control valve and my coolant temp sensor and still nothing changed.
so ive done a compression test BUT as i took my coil back off i noticed OIL! on the most right stick as i carried on i pulled the spark plug out and also corverd in oil all others are fine.
Cleaned all the pulgs up and every thing for when i put them back in,
now the compression it tought it would show me what i thought that my most right piston ring and gone BUT!! all piston showed the same compression so i dont know what to think !.
so after i put it all back together cleaned everything i took off up went for a run and after a blast at full throttle came to stop as soon as i dipped the clutch it cut out again .
so i need to know if anyone can shed any light on this, why is there oil on my spark plug and why am i still cutting out many thanks !.

Is it using much oil? Does it feel like it's lacking in power?

    Yes and no mate.
No its not using alot of oil but i have got a slight leak some where.
Yes it does feel a little down on power i think anyway.

you sure its not the cam covers leaking onto the plugs and causing no spark mate? cam covers are very common to leak on 16v's

does it smoke on start-up? if so then stem seals may be gone. this wouldnt cause cutting out though but would explain a loss in oil

Oil in between the cam ladders is probably just a leaky seal between the head and ladder or ladder and cover.

Is there alot of oil in the inlet?

To be honest fellas I'm not a mechanically minded person would want to start poking round only did the compression test because my friends a mechanic. I did notice tho that there was oil from the pipe that bends from the airbox to the throttle body and when we took this off I cleaned oil from out lip on the throttle body it's self does this help ?

if there is excess oil in the inlet then that is a sign of stem seals, what were your compression readings?

edit just noticed you said all compressions were the same so ignore me lol

Just went out to look at the cam cover if im even looking at the right thing,
and noticed what i thought is to bolts or srews missing some pics two show u guys.

the bottom pic clearly shows that a bolt is missing on the cam cover, not sure about the top pic, i think i had that on my vts iirc and nothing was attached to it either, not 100% though

    actually heres my old vts

you can see on the top left i have a bit sticking out like your top pic without a bolt attached, it will most likely be the same on the right like your engine tbh, therefore dont worry about it

note: none of the pics you sent has anything to do with the issues you are currently having with the car

yea the top pic is the top left hand side and the bottom is the top right hand side what sides missing or is it both.
so does this explain the oil??.

your bottom pic of the two has a bolt missing. in this pic you cant really tell anything as your coilpack cover is on. if you take the coilpack cover off and there are signs of the cam covers leaking onto the plugs then get the leak sorted

what do u think needs doing is it simple as replacing the missing bolt to cure this or is there more needed ?

nope, i did say earlier that the bolt is missing but it wont be the cause of your issues mate sorry, just taken the coilpack cover off and see if theres an leaks and go from there

Your piston rings will be fine. The oil will be leaking into the plug resesses as explained above.

The stalling is probably unrelated to the oil leak. Idling problems are very common with Saxos. Do a search and you will find loads of threads. I would begin by disconnecting and reconnecting all of the electrical connectors to all of the engine sensors a couple of times to improve electrical conductivity and an ECU reset by disconnecting the battery for around 30mins. You will be surprised how much of a differece these things will make.
