Citroen Saxo 8v - Kam Racing Lightweight Alloy Crank Pulley Kit

says on the site for track use on comp engines? so would this not be suitable for use on the road? what effects would it have in everyday usage? and what gains should i get with this?

    no1 no anything about these?

    Never heard of that, sorry

main benefit is weight saving and marginally snappier throttle response as the engine has got as much weight to get spinning, on an otherwise standard engine it'll be hardly noticeable IMO. Can't see why it wouldn't be suitable for road use though

oh right thanks just wonderd about it gearing down the alternator wether it would affect power on the sterio ie the battery charge ect?

I've just fitted one of these to my 16v. You do notice less drag and alittle quicker revs but you do get a little more engine deceleration. You save 1.313kg in unsprung weight which is always good

How do you save 1.3kg in unsprung weight?
  8. #8
from swapping the standard pulleys to the kam ones

Surely the weight is sprung as it's attached to the engine?

Unsprung weight would be wheels, calipers etc.

    Correct!

I was going to say... unsprung weight is whats inside your wheels.

As for the pulley, obviously people say it's got it's advantages, but if you really want to see the full potential of lighter pulleys then a lighter flywheel would be a good idea
