    anyone know how quick 250@wheels on a supercharged vts lump does a quarter miles run in?
    i have a mate with a 280bhp evo 6 4 wheel drive sayin his would take a supercharged saxo on a quarter miles by a bit
    suppose its down to traction what do you guys think?

    It depends on alot of variables really such as driver, tyres, gear ratios, weight etc... see if he can beat my n/a 106's time of 12.73 @ 110mph before he starts harping on about beating boosted vts's.

    letstorquebhp.com says low to mid 13's for a 276bhp evo 6 GSR....

    4wheels drive would obv take off faster but im not sure who would win by the end of the quarter mile

    Depends alot on the driver.

    Ive seen plenty of FWD & RWD cars take evo's + scoobs off the line.. Purely becuse they know exacltly how to launch there car.

    200 @ wheels should see him off if driven properly.

    its pretty obvious that a saxo with 250 @ the wheels is going to wipe the floor with it. The evo will struggle to have 200@the wheels and they weigh over 300kg more.

    A standard ish evo will not launch well, not enough power and too much grip will make it bog down. the book times on imprezas and evos were literally limiter launched and a standard clutch will only take that a few times before it gives up.

    I wouldn't get worked up about it, throw 10k at any car (not just a saxo) and it would beat an evo, however, spend the same on an evo as was spent on a saxo and its a different story.

    Its an ongoing dispute that bugs me slightly, obviously a very highly modifed car that has been built purely for speed is going to be quicker than the majority of standard cars but keep that in mind, they are standard

    I did a low 13 in my old evo 6 tme running 350 bhp that was with a launch but with road tyres so you should do him

    intresting, yeah i suppose the standard clutch wouldnt handle to many launches,
    but as u see in videos of knockhill with axo16v with the supercharged engine takes a while to catch the evo at the start as the 4wheel drivehelps get away from him to start with but then the ax catches him just past the pits

    that evo is WELL over 400bhp though pal. well thats what tam said.

    This may be a good comparison to look at. It is from an old straitliners a fair few years ago. Look down the page you will see a Saxo. It was a turbo not a supercharged but was only running around 200bhp at the wheels. Most of the imprezas that where slower then it where running considerably more power then your friends Evo. Even my old normally aspirated AX would give some of these Imprezas a run for there money. Its the weight of the likes of the Evo and Impreza that is there biggest holdback.
