oil mixing with water is most likely to be head gasket.

I'm hoping it is just the rocker cover gasket and not a split head otherwise the car will have to come off the road!! I've only had it 4 weeks!!!!!!

What sort of price am I looking at if it is a split head?

What do you think? Skimmed or new head?

    Split head?

It won't be a split head or a Rocker cover Gasket lol.

It'll be the Head Gasket, and you'll want the head skimmed also yeh

The head might not need refacing if its not overheated drastically. Check the head when you pull it off with a metal ruler and feeler gauges. Its a job you can do yourself on an afternoon with new bolts and headgasket.

Yup a lot cheaper to do it yourself...

It's not overheating that much and there is only a tiny bit of oil mixture

    1.4 is an 8 valve.

sounds like th eheadgasket is starting to weep so it's on its way, best to change it sooner rarther than later as you'll do more damage.

as been said above to check the see if the head is warped use an engineers rule accros the face and see if you see light between the valve bores if there is any light shining through get a feeler gague to determin how much. not sure what the tolerance is. also when undoing the head bolts do it in a circular pattern and when the engine is stone cold. can be done in a weekend if its your first one.

I had the same thing happen on a 1.1 106 and a 1.1 saxo, crud in the header tank but the oil in the engine was clean. Both cars driven hard and took the abuse but its best to replace the gasket as its weeping though.
Check your coolant pump is working, thermostat isnt stuck shut and and radiator isnt clogged with gunk too as these could be causing the overheating
