MK1 VTS engine in a MK2 saxo

  1. #1
Found a mk1 vts donor car, fully working except the chasis is knackered due to scraping, the engine is 30k less than the chasis so not origional either. I was wondering, as id have both cars side by side with all bits from the vts available to swap over (ECU exhaust etc), will the mk1 vts fit into the mk2? Or will i need a load of adaptation? IE mounts?

Anyone done this or got a progress thread also? Not looking for mega performance boost, its just my engine is bugging me with fault after fault! so this seems a cheap fix considering the VTS is a few hundred due to chasis rot.

depends on year of your mk2

the only issue will be wiring as the looms wont just plug straight in. the engines a bolt in job though, no fabrication or custom parts required.

This is what I'm doing. Seems you have the old donor car you can swap all the interior loom as well, keep the Mk1 VTS clocks and you have a straight swap.

I forgot to keep my Mk1 interior loom though... so I'm going to need a multimeter and some wiring diagrams

the only thing i can think of is sell the engine and looms and buy another vtr engine as its going to complicate the wiring on the swap. here is a thing on ebay for the whole loom engine the lot - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Citroen-Saxo-V...item3cb787217e or spares and repair mk1 vtr

havent really read all the replies but first of all dump the engine in the car, if the chasis plug doesnt fit you have 2 options, fit the interior loom out of donor car or cut he multi plug off new and old looms then solder on the original plug on to the new loom as said pug1off offer this service and im sure mandyslover could also do this for you depends where in the country you are
