Do a search mate
Are you talking top end speed? -
#3super dooper fast

It tops about at 115ish depending on the rev limit and tyre size

#7The 1.1 tops out barely over 105
i didn't manage to get over 99 in mine.. -
#8i literally did this 2 days ago, so i can tell you, i have a mk1 1999 saxo vtr and changed the gearbox over, the acceleration has improved alot, but its a lot of changing gears, you pretty much have to change out of first as soon as you put your foot down. mine topped off at 110, which is perfect for me as i dont tend to need to go top end. if you are going to do this, dont get rid of your old gear box first as you will need your speedo sensor out of it,
-
#9Well my 1.1 struggles to hit 100.. so a bit more than that im guessing cos of the r.
-
#10Bear in mind the inaccuraces of the saxo speedo......
Those saying 110 is more like 100-105mph -
#11yeh thats right devil. i mean mine was topping out so you can safely say is -5mph there, sorry should have put that down, also i know its common sense thing to say but my vtr now destroys my fuel as soon as i put any in.
-
#13all of which was done on a private road guvnor
-
#14Off topic a bit but do the 1.1 boxes last ok for track work etc?

#15this is gd cuz i want more acceleration as long i get to 100 that fineQuote:i literally did this 2 days ago, so i can tell you, i have a mk1 1999 saxo vtr and changed the gearbox over, the acceleration has improved alot, but its a lot of changing gears, you pretty much have to change out of first as soon as you put your foot down. mine topped off at 110, which is perfect for me as i dont tend to need to go top end. if you are going to do this, dont get rid of your old gear box first as you will need your speedo sensor out of it,

#16what happens at 100?
-
#19explodes!
-
#21I had 117 out of my 1.1
Gps verified. Boom! -
#22Everyone knows that if you hit 100mph in a saxo you go back in time
-
#25Down the longest hill i could find!
It took fuckkng ages! It had nothing left to go, and seeing as i was in cut bumpstops, fully decked out, and fully stripped, the car was all over the shop!
I shit myself! First and last time! -
#27It would be hard to say, with some rough calculations I have worked it out to be 'proper fast'
-
#28Al da birds get wet coz mi saxo dun doin 100 init
-
#29What's the rpm limit on a VTR? I'll bang in the calculations in the adsayer super mega awesome saxo calculator.
-
#30soft cut is 6250, hardcut is 6500.
I'm sure it'll rev to 6500 in 5th -
#32Hmm I think its possible ^_^.
-
#34It's a shorter box, less wind resistance, if it hit 6200 and was still going I don't see why it wouldn't pull to 6500 like 4th.
Each to their own and all that though
-
#35You're going to get the same wind resistance at the same speed regardless of box dude. The top speed of a VTR is 119 mph anyway. There is no chance of it hitting the soft limiter unless a downhill stretch is used and there's definitely no chance of it hitting the hard limiter.
-
#36What are soft and hard limiters? (serious question)
-
#37Soft cuts fuel, hard cuts ignition.
