tu5jp4 running bit poor

   just last week put a tu5jp4 engine in my vts as old block was cracked
   thing is it pulls away well and near 5-6k revs it lacks power really bad, thought that the inlet might have been not sealed properly so took it off and secured it more but still not as quick as my old vts engine. could this be the cams or something im missing?
   any help would be great

   Is the Engine management light on, have you checked the cam timing, also is it mis-firing at all?

   no light on and timing is bang on :/

   What JP4 engine is it? As you may have the 110bhp version one.

   Does the power seem to reduce alot at 5k or does it just not pull as well compared to a J4?

   You want the j4 cams in it with the j4 loggers and springs mate. Will bring it up to the right power. That's what I have in my jp4

   yeah thats bang on mate it was very slow after 5k mark. iv just ordered some newman c2 ph3 cams for it so should help abit thanks alot people youve confermed my thought haha

   where did you order the newman cams from then mate? Im thinking about getting some for mine.

    Fuel filter?
    If it's getting blocked the engine will get starved of fuel.

    The power delivery of the jp4 is for more liniear than the j4.feels alot flatter higher up like an 8v but its still just as quick as the j4

    yeah just fiteed new filter so not that. and im pretty sure its the cams now iv read up on it il let you lot know when i fit them
