How is easy is it to swap to vtr lump

  1. #1
I'm going to apologise to start with if I seem a bit clueless with this as I have very little mechanical/electrical knowledge I am swapping my furio engine to a vtr one how easy is this swap I will have loom ecu an ov course the engine cheers guys

take old one old out put new one in reverse to getting it out and there you go simple to be honest

My main concern is the ecu and loom any special needs for example unlocking ecu and the ignition also
  4. #4
if you have an unlocked ecu then its just plug and play
but if im correct if its locked then you will need the key and barrel also the transponder box from the car the ecu is from

    someone correct if wrong

find a conversion with the unlocked set up, tbh mate its not worth puttng avtr in a 1.4, either vts it or sell up and buy something beter, it really is a waste of time for the effort

I wouldn't bother with a vtr lump tbh unless you plan to go boosted of itb'd, either go 16valve or just enjoy the car for what it is

I'm only going vtr due to my head gasket going and it being cheaper to get a vtr lump then having the head done again, ok will unlock the ecu before it goes in how long roughly should this process take aswell??

I would go for both, itb's then mapping will leave you wanting more power so if you add cams after that followed by another mapping session you will spend alot more money.
