I'm going to apologise to start with if I seem a bit clueless with this as I have very little mechanical/electrical knowledge I am swapping my furio engine to a vtr one how easy is this swap I will have loom ecu an ov course the engine cheers guys
How is easy is it to swap to vtr lump
-
#1
-
#2take old one old out put new one in reverse to getting it out and there you go simple to be honest
-
#3My main concern is the ecu and loom any special needs for example unlocking ecu and the ignition also
-
#4if you have an unlocked ecu then its just plug and play
but if im correct if its locked then you will need the key and barrel also the transponder box from the car the ecu is from
someone correct if wrong -
#5find a conversion with the unlocked set up, tbh mate its not worth puttng avtr in a 1.4, either vts it or sell up and buy something beter, it really is a waste of time for the effort
-
#6I wouldn't bother with a vtr lump tbh unless you plan to go boosted of itb'd, either go 16valve or just enjoy the car for what it is
-
#7I'm only going vtr due to my head gasket going and it being cheaper to get a vtr lump then having the head done again, ok will unlock the ecu before it goes in how long roughly should this process take aswell??
-
#8if you are not completely clueless and keep and eye on how you take it apart then less than a day reallyQuote:I'm only going vtr due to my head gasket going and it being cheaper to get a vtr lump then having the head done again, ok will unlock the ecu before it goes in how long roughly should this process take aswell??
-
#9The plan is after a while to go cams or throttle bodies afta as I'm taking it to cituning for them to work on it
-
#10Cheers buddy I will have to watch what I'm doing and then reverse my process lil
-
#11I would go for both, itb's then mapping will leave you wanting more power so if you add cams after that followed by another mapping session you will spend alot more money.
-
#12What BHP do you thing I'd get using both??
-
#13depends what cams and what bodies you use every engine is different
-
#14Ok cheers mate
-
#16Lol cheers mate I've got a set of r1 carb in the garage will those b ok or not
-
#17you would need custom made parts to fit
