ss manifold query

   Hi guys
   
   Got a ss mani brand new off ebay for £80 last night but discription and pic was very vague so got on the blower this morning and the chap sounded like he just didnt have a clue
   
   he said its a race de cat mani and it wont pass my next mot is he right and you can get these mani
   
   or am i stupid and you cant fit cat to a ss mani
   
   any info would be great cheers guys ????

   The later MK2 VTR's had the cat in the manifold, so if he is talking about fitting it to a later MK2, then yes it will decat it.

   If you have a mk1 saxo the cat is in the centre pipe so the manifold doe's not have the cat it.
   
   So if you have a cat in your centre pipe you will be fine passing your mot!

   not sure of the make bud thats the prob but yeah well cheap
   
   its a phase 1 mate vtr
   
   ive bought a sportex race centre pipe coming in a couple of days
   
   i just hope my cat will fit between them

   Yes your cat will fit between them, but I would recommend getting a de-cat pipe, you will enjoy the sound and the somewhat improved performance

   theres not too much gains without a cat its amazing what people think.
   
   is Stockhatch they run with cats and they still produces same sorts of power out of the saxo

   It sounds better though so that means it's more powerful, right?
   Nah it does feel a little more responsive though, enough to notice it.
   Hence why lots of people do it.
