Self revving :/

   It's pretty unpridictable I thought it was when car got hotter but it now seems to just be completely random.
   
   When stopped at traffic light or something the car will rev up to two, two and a half thousand with out me touching the peddles. You car will sometime go to normal tick over as I stop then it while slowly rev up and hold it steady at say 2000.
   
   I've also noticed some times if driving it will pull it's self. Like the other day I drove down the whole road without touching the peddles it held it's rev/speed I guess basically the car didn't naturally slow down, it wasn't 'engine breaking'
   
   Obv this is a bit worrying hoping it's just dodgy French electrics :/ lol

   happened to me a 3-5 times,
   i pulled the battery lead off when it did happen..
   stopped happening itself.

   You got out of the car and pulled the battery off with it running?...
   
   This i can only think of 2 things!
   
   Idle control valve, there are guides on here. Take it off, clean it with carb cleaner, spray a very small amount of wd40 on it, then reattach.
   
   Or it could potentially be an air leak, whilst its running, disconnect a few hoses, if it revs up then the hose is fine. If it doesnt rev up, you've found your leak

   happened to me too, i cleaned the icv and seems to have worked,
   but the car still not starting properly from time to time so obv have other problems

   Ok thanks I'll look into it. Although not wanting to jinx it but I drove 2 hour down to Eastbourne and then the same back the next day and it only done it a little leaving here then hasn't done it since so think it may have fixed it's self

   happends to me aswel sometimes. where abouts it the coolant temp sensor? and the idle control valve?
