FAO jenvey throttle body owners

  1. #1
basically ive got these jenveys second hand from pug1off, they have given me an adapter to use a standard throttle cable, was told i need a tps... ive been on jenvey website and they list a peugeot tps and an adapter
    http://www.jenvey.co.uk/home/accesso...ti-marelli-tp5
    which adds up to £85
but on kamracing they sell tps kit as an option on there jenveys for £62.40
    http://www.kamracing.co.uk/citroen/c...6-16v-vts.html

im guessing doesnt matter which ones i go for?

was told std injectors fit so obviously std wiring will fit

so thats the tps, throttle cable and injectors sorted out

on the bodies there are mounting point on the right and left i was told that you can fit the tps either side? is this correct? and you just leave the side you dont use?

im not a expert on bodies but surely there are a lot more sensors on the oem t/b, so what do i do with the rest? do they just not get used and need to tied up somewhere?

any help will be appreciated regarding any part of the fitting of these cheers

PS these are the bodies btw

Just a suggestion - http://atpowershop.co.uk/catalog/col...p17-p-152.html ? Something along those lines will work fine.

Yes, standard injectors will fit, and so will the standard wiring. You just need to remove the spacers which move the fuel rail away from the injector holes on the bodies

Yes, can fit the TPS either side. I'd fit the TPS on the passenger side of the bodies as you look into the engine bay from the front of the car. Simply as this is where the oem wiring for the oem TPS goes to - so you don't need to extend it to have the TPS on the drivers side of the TBs

im not a expert on bodies but surely there are a lot more sensors on the oem t/b, so what do i do with the rest? do they just not get used and need to tied up somewhere?
See the link I put in my first post - post up any further questions you have and I'll see if I can help out.

PS - enjoy the Predator and the TB noise, is superb !

A good reason to go premium

I did a detailed guide the throttle body setups

I need a plenum making up for my jenveys.

there are left hand + right hand rotation tps sensors --make sure you get right one --if not you have to mount on other end

    just got a few questions

-will the tps in the atpower link work on the passenger side of the jenveys?
-will the tps in the atpower link plug straight in to my oem loom?
-where abouts do you mount the MAT/IAT sensor? Bearing in mind these bodies have already been fitted to a gti

lastly, the map, reheat probe and ICV sensors are just left to float around in the bay and are not needed?

my mate very kindly gave me the throttle cable converter so i can use my standard cable and gave me the vacume pipes, he dug them out at work

Yeh that tps sensor will work fine, I'd get a colvern tsp sensor.

What I did when fitting the tps sensor to my loom was to cut the own plug off the loom around 6" away from the plug, and soldered the tps straight onto it. What you do with the Predator is record the position of the tps with the throttle closed, and again with the throttle 100% open. From this the Ecu knows the throttle position.

I'd look to mount the IAT around the trumpet mouths. I had mine tied onto my scuttle just to the right of the passenger trumpet.

The loose plugs, I'd cover the plug so water can't get into them and corrode the connectors, and just tie them out the way. I wouldn't cut the unused plugs off though, incase you go back to own.

ah i see i thought the IAT would have to be mounted on the bodies itself, like it is in the oem tb, but thats quiet straight forward, just have to cable tie it somewhere around the mouth of the trumpets

with that TPS would the car be drivable with the TPS straight out the box? I was planning on fitting it all at my house in oxford and then drive the 70 miles down to southampton and getting it all mapped

i cant stress how much help your guide has been to me, i was clueless a few hours ago and now after a good read, id like to think i could very happily fit the bodies myself

In theory, all you'd need to do is load up a base map onto the Ecu, fit a wideband lambda, then calibrate the TPS (really easy to do), then start her up.

You might need to adjust the throttle stop slightly so that it idles fine but that's relatively easy to do.

I'd 100% run it with a wideband so you can keep an eye on the engine afr

What spec will you have? Oem injectors? Standard cams?
  16. #16
Also, looking at the pictures, you're going to need to drill and tap a take off for the brake vacuum pipe in the inlet on cylinder 1
  17. #17
it already has two vacuum take off's on it

it will have ph3's/708's, if i can sort out my paypal i want to buy J222JRA's brand new 708's, and i will use standard injectors for the moment, I may get larger ones but thats a whole other subject that i will have to do some research on, not sure what cc ill need and if they'll fit etc

the ecu already has a base map on it, its currently connected to my car now, not a clue how to calibrate the tps though i wasnt planning on fitting a wideband, but i suppose theres no harm in getting one

hmmm im thinking i might have to get the car trailered down to andy to get it mapped, i can see it running like a right dog un-mapped on bodies and cams with that tps

Could pay Andy fuel money and I'm sure he can come to you?
  19. #19
hmmm that's an idea! I was thinking it but thought would be too cheeky ha

Just pm him for details - he does come to you if you cover fuel at a set rate per mile.

Probably better for you to fit them and get as far as you can, then get him to come up to map it. You're not too far from Southampton in Oxford

Andy comes out to you at 30p per mile Spoke to him yesterday about it
