wiring diagram for changing engine plug vts into vtr

  1. #1
iv tried looking for this but i just cant find it. im currently putting a saxo vts engine into a vtr, the vtr has a 1 big plug joining the loom together and the vts engine is 1 smaller plug, is it possible to crimp the big plug onto the vts loom? ifso is there any wiring diagrams anywhere?
  2. #2
Anybody? Really Don't want to change the full interior lol
  3. #3
what year is your saxo and what yeah was the saxo that you took the vts engine from
  4. #4
98 vts going into 53 vtr
  5. #5
There you go, differant plugs, youll have to change interior looms or splice the looms together
  6. #6
yeh i know that im just seeing if any1 will show me how to splice them ie wiring diagram etc, really dont want to change interior loom
  7. #7
change the engine loom, its the best way on that year of vtr. im happy to help when im free seeing as your local, ive done the exact conversion, couldnt get it running right so just got a 3 plug ecu and loom so it was plug and play
  8. #8
so i can run vtr engine loom on vtr ecu do you mean a 3 plug vts engine loom, id really like not to mess about and just join the plugs some how, cheers
  9. #9
yeah i mean a 3 plug vts loom and ecu. the single plug ecu/loom doesnt run the radiator fan so you need to sort that out and i think you have issues due to having digi clocks instead of analogue ones. not to mention if you use the right loom it will look like a factory job rather than a convrsion.
you can rewire it, but if you have to ask how you'll probably struggle, there isnt a diagram that i could find anywhere, only ecu pin outs

also i suggested changing the engine loom because you mentioned changing the interior loom, which would be much more of a fuck about
  11. #11
yeah true but then need different ecu dont i
  12. #12
yeah, but you can sell the single plug for a similar price to what the 3 plug will cost. i managed to sell my single plug ecu and loom and buy a 3 plug ecu and loom and made a tenner profit.
  13. #13
think im going to end up putting the full loom in with the mk1 clocks fitted aswell
  14. #14
why bother? changing clocks alone is a harder and longer job than changing a loom!
  15. #15
because its a 53 plate vtr with digital clocks if i change the interior loom to the mk1 vts loom it will only work with the mk1 clocks ?
  16. #16
yeah but why would you prefer to fit a new interior loom and clocks (which will involve taking the dash out, and ending up with shit clocks) rather than fit an engine loom to match your car?
  17. #17
coz i need it done asap its my mates n said id have it back to him in 2 days, now been 3 days and i cant find an engine loom and ecu anywhere local
  18. #18
id ask him before you start doing that because changing the interior loom is one hell of a job if he still has a full interior
  19. #19
yeah it is iv done it before and hated it, i just want the job done tbh and out my way so i can get paid lol

Lee ... I've got a single plug loom with small interior plug but before I got it ,it had a large connection plug would he be able to use the large vtr plug and change it back?
  25. #25
tbh he could do exactly that with the loom hes already got
  26. #26
Just thought it would be easier with the colours matching up
  27. #27
Yeh if I knew which wire went where I'd be Alryt lol
  28. #28
Yep same as me then single plug into my 53 Vtr pain don't have a fan no charge for some reason
  29. #29
Fan controls don't work in the same way on a 3-plug as a single plug. You need to do some wiring on the car side after an engine change in order for the fan to work as it should.
