2nd lambda missing 03 vts

hello, my new vts is an 03 plate.

it has a non standard exhaust and has come with the 2nd lambda not plugged in or included with the car, the management light is on yet the car runs well. im sure it requires a sensor plugging in and then fitting in a sleeve.

is this a must to erase the management light or can i do some fancy join and splice wires to fool the ecu type thing?

    cheers

it has to be plugged in for the light not to show, if you get one and reset ecvu it should go off.... if it doesnt you may have other issues

On my vtr mk2 i have the Pre-cat lambda sensor fitted in the 4-2-1 manifold, and the second sensor (after cat) is plugged in but cable tied near my battery tray so it reads clean air, the hole in the exhaust for no:2 sensor is blanked off with the bung supplied with mani, then the ecu thinks the catalytic converter is still there and working i also have no lamda sleeve, and no management light

The second sensor only checks for CAT efficiency, so it doesn't affect how the car runs in any way.

If you want rid of the light, you'll need the correct lambda and a metal sleeve. My second lambda is sleeved and the light does come on once or twice a year (fault code P0136 IIRC), but it usually clears itself after a few drives.

That's the badger. Mine is sleeved and cable tied to that metal bracket.

Ηello guys i need some assistance as well . I am about to fit my S/s race pipe without cat on my vts and was wondering what to do with the second lamda.Do i just buy a sleeve and place it on the lamda and then cable tie it under the car somewhere like the pic above? What about the hole in the pipe for the lamda do i buy a blankin plug like this one http://www.kamracing.co.uk/citroen/c...m18-x-1-5.html and just tap the hole? Is there a way to fit the lamda into a sleeve and then onto the pipe or this wont work at all? Thanks a lot guys . Thats for the second lamda btw the first is all fine doesnt need to be moved

I believe that most people just dont plug in thr second lamba with a aftermarket pipe. car still runs fine but the light shows due to the second lamba getting no reading so the car thinks its running but no exhaust gass is being issued

Ye but if i fit a sleeve to the second lamda and cable tie it somewhere under the car to read clean air the EML wont be up.I want to know if thats the way most do it

hi i was just wondering if you could tell me what the cable colours are on the 2nd lambda cheers

if you fit ur second lambda to the cable and fit a sleave and tie it up the answer is yes that will put your light out mate
