JP4 ENGINE who's done it??!......

    hello guy's


    i picked up my jp4 engine today i have read so much stuff about the jp4 engine its very mixed reviews, i dont mind tbh as i want a low mileage engine and its not the same old 16v conversion.


    i have the 110 bhp engine from what i know you need to do.....


    .tap new holes for the saxo 16v inlet mini

    .oil filter conversion

    .put 16v oil sump

    .16v mini

    .if you dont want a hole in your cam belt cover but the saxo 16v cam cover on

    and then if you want to get more power you need to put the saxo 16v cams and sprigs?? i would like some more info on this? from people that have done it!

    so post some pic and info

    Im currently doing it now, but I'm having throttle bodies and jp4 708 cams with all new springs etc in it. The only part I've been struggling with is the ECU + Loom side of things but thats all sorted. But with anything, I suppose taking you time is key, and will make it a lot easier to get right first time.

    ooh ok mate yea i see alot of threads about what cams to use, so are you still useing the 110bhp springs? or are you putting the saxo 16v springs in?

    I'm going to be using either J4 springs + retainers or Catcam everything. The reason for changing them is because they aren't strong enough to take higher lift cam's iirc.

    Theres a few places, I'm getting it all from pug1off but I'm sure Kamracing or others will do it, I'm not too sure..

    ooh cool man i seen 2 guys on 106 owners have made 140bhp with saxo/gti cams and springs thats sounds good for a start

    Yeah it is good, I'm not too sure what to expect (BHP wise) after the build is done, just have to wait and see..

    yes well they say if you cam and map a saxo vts you should see around the 150 mark so would be nice to see what a jp4 camed and maped would be like

    Right dont hit me if this s a stupid comment please the JP4 engne is from the C2 VTS correct?

    And surely if they are from c2 vts they have alot more than 110 BHP

    JP4 is out of the newer 1.6 16v peugeot/citroen range. 206/307/C2/C3 etc. People say they have C2 VTS engines but 9 times out of 10 they are telling porky's. They just have the standard JP4.

    Engine code for the C2 VTS is JP4S and they have a few differences.

    mate i done this to my car, but when fitted it was shit slow, so i fitted c2 vts newman ph3 cams and bought the newman valve springs aswell, id advise you to get uprated springs if you do it just for peace of mind really

    mines the jp4 engine fully rebuilt with pistons comrods, valvs springs all uprated running race bottem end bearings newmans ph4 cames and r1 carbs and runs perfect

    what did you do first? just put it in as a standard jp4? then put the newman ph3s? what douse it go like now?

    was standard at first then i was getting beat of like 1.4's so i fitted a ported n polished head i had and ph3 cams and its much quicker now, grtting it rolling roaded in august to see what power its got

    The only reaon i asked the above is because a guy around the corner from me owns a monster 106GTI which he dropped a C2 VTS lump in did pretty much evrything you can i do i suppose never really had a proper in depth chat with him but he turbo'd it also and the car was running 345 at the fly and i dont even need to explain how fast it ws

    The thing is insane made a 150 bhp sax look like it was standing still and use to have a video of it but dont have it anymore my friend has the video im sure i will ask him and when i have it re upload it and then you can see i want to see it again hahah
