    browsing ebay and found this

looks like a nice piece of kit. i bet its loud tho... we (us regular track day fools) need a new silent power exhaust, at least i think there is a gap in the market.

can kam, gmc or other make one?

That looks like a nice pipe tbh mate.

One question quick as i dont want to be starting threads all over the gaff.

Whats ur opinion on a piper cammed mk1 vts with full supersprint race exhaust system i think thats what it is without a silencer atm and has standard mani what db reading do you think that would give as your into track? i dont want to have to get a silencer its crazy loud ill post a pic and link of a vid and thanks in advance

actually we were taking to an engine builder a month or so back about making a stainless 2 1/4 for the saxo and 106. It has to be a twin box system to pass any sort of noise regs.
What bhp are you running. Unless you are touching 200bhp theres no point.

The exhaust is an Ashley , bit rough & ready but they get used loads on rally cars

I had an Ashley 4-2-1 manifold , it was very light & quieter than my raceland

We deffo need a quiet performance exhaust for track day exhaust

I run a saxsport with a center silencer, it can pass the static but fails the drive by.

Kam I would be very very interested in this, if you can make it happen before early next year it will be cheaper than going to a custom exhaust place that's for sure!

We will certainly be doing one, certainly a few months away from starting development as we have to do a lot of work to the new unit.

will this be light kam? id be interested for sure because im boosting my 8v and a 2 1/4 inch exhaust would be spot on. im looking at running around 200hp boosted.

It will be as light as we can get it. A larger pipe will be heavier but not too much..

Will a larger pipe diameter mean slow gas speeds if used on a mildly tuned car ?

basically yes. Unless you are hitting 190bhp to 200bhp you are going to be fine with a well designed 50mm bore unless you want a rubbish midrange.

So for a VTS with cams your taking about the usual exhaust's? i think mine if far far far too loud and would like a quieter one lol

would a silencer in the supersprint center section affect performance?
  22. #22
I use the supersprint with middle box it only 88 dB on static test so good for that and still just as good

Thats good really full supersprint with mani aswell? and then the centre silencer or standard centre ?
  24. #24
Middle box which is a middle silencer...... And with raceland mani.

Without the middle box the supersprint is too loud... The middle box bring the noise right down.

Okay cheers andy i suppose the best thiing to do would be to get it tested because personally dont want to get the middle box

Do you know of the prices for the db readers etc or what would you suggest thanks
