Is there any inlet manifold (From a 106 Xsi for example) that would fit on a VTR and that you would notice any performance gains?
Thanks

Not if you have a 98bhp engine.

s1 rallye inlet is the favourite mate. i have one on my vtr 90bhp engine.
sounds the bollox havent notcied any gains though.
also helps idle if you have wild cams.

Nope different port spacing, to the early engines which can use the rallye inlet.

I remember taking my 1.1 inlet manifild off when i was stripping the car and iirc, where it bolts to the engine, it had lots of 'fingers' sticking up. Best way to describe it would be, it looked like the inside of a weed grinder.
Any reason for this?

just a random guess but maybe to swirl the air and mix the fuel better
