engine loom fitting ?

    dose any 1 know were they go been trying to fit the loom today it came with the engine 106 gti 16v when i got it some of the parts don’t fit.



    Nothing on the loom fit this under the inlet manifold?



    The green 1 don’t fit in not the right shape


    And the yellow 1 don’t fit in not the right shape to ?


    is this the right loom? Dose any go to the gearbox as I tried them all and they don’t? Is the vts loom the some as 106 gti loom? can any 1 help

    Some of the sensors were redesigned, youve a later spec loom and youre trying to use it with older sensors.

    btw, the first three are for the alternator, oil level and oil pressure.

    Looks like you have a 3 plug loom, with an single plug engine.
    which is what I had with my engine conversion



    First plug & ring is alternator,
    3 wire plug is oil level/temp
    red one is oil pressure







    Need to change the sensor for the later type
    looking a the plug you need the green 2 wire, not the pale blue 3 wire.

    if the plug below is blue with a grey ring its wrong, you need a blue with yellow ring



    should be 2 plug to the gearbox
    Speed sensor and reverse switch, as well as 2 earths

    how do i change the plug do i just buy a new 1 and wire it in ?

    i havea vtr 3 plug and this engine should of been 3 plug vts can i still wire this in ? dont no what to do now lol.

    Changing the sensors to match the loom, and the alternator

    As a rough guess looking at your pics you need

    Alternator (I used my vtr one with all the brackets)
    Both water temp sensors
    oil level
    gearbox reverse
    Throttle position
