judder when cruising

This is weird, my vtr y plate judders or shakes like its about to stall if I cruise in 2nd or 3rd gear. Never does it when I'm accelerating.

Seems to happen when I just start driving before its warmed up.

    What ya rekon?

    EDIT:

So today I was driving and after about 20 mins pulled in, went to park and as soon as i stopped the engine cut. fire it up and it died again, but if i put some gas into it then it was fine... just couldnt settle.

It's been doing something like this but just not cutting out, went stationary and in neutral the rev needle dips and picks up and sounds like its gonna cut but picks itself back up again... over and over again. It happens from time to time, this time it just died every time it dipped.

Sorted itself out after it was off for a while but im slightly concerned, im going to guess it is related to the judder.

    Any further ideas?

    Thanks

You just described the exact symptoms of what mine did..

Disconnected the battery..Took the ICV off.. cleaned it.. put battery back on a hour after.. and it's fixed..

I dont know anything about cars. I was wondering how a judder could be anything other than electrics/engine!

    /facepalm

    So... moving swiftly on:

Do I need to change them or clean them, I found this guide:

I'll try cleaning the ICV first, when I figure out what the is, cheers guyz

Just clean it, it's on the inlet.. 2x torx bolt's and it's out.. just gave mine a wipe, and inside where it sit's.

Not sure where it is on a mk1 if that's what you've got? But it'll be on the inlet none the less.

Can't find any pictures of a mk2 engine bay

But the sensor looks the same as that!

Say's use carb cleaner on it!
