  1. #1
    Hi Guys,

Following this guide http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...ev+counter+1.1 however the rev counter simply does not work.

I also have a aftermarket one but this works correctly. i have connected the same signal cable to the pin 1 on yellow cable as said but it dont work.

Is there any difference becasuse the dash was taken from a diesel?

I have the same although mines a track build so I know it's not these problems but I've been searching and in logical order check

    Fuses
Plugs behind the clock (no loose connections)
Wires aren't snagged in the loom

Then if that doesn't fix it try the rpm sensor which I've read is on the gearbox (damn having no haynes) but I don't know where exactly will let you know if I find out.

Also people will say the crank sensor but logically it couldn't be as if the car starts then it's working for the ecu to calculate engine speeds then it must be the dial readout.

Didn't read the first post correctly, your saying you've wired up an aftermarket one to the same cables and it works fine? The motor may be broke in the clock in which case new clocks would be the case.

Also any chance you could let me know where the signal wire is? (location and colour) then I can start trying to diagnose mine further.

Hi mate, yea the signal is fine, its on the cable 625 on the ecu which with the aftermarket its fine which is really annoying me. erm brown was the color if i remember correctly. Hope this helps you mate.
