Engine bay and parts

  1. #1
Hi everyone, I have seen a few individuals have gone through the trouble of ripping out their engines and doing the bay up nicely. I Also want to do this. But while I am at it, I want to REBUILD it as well, making everything smoother and nicer. So where is a good place to get some nice Saxo parts? Some bits I might get very sporty as well.

I have a budget of £5k but probably won't use all of it!

As you can see my engine looks pretty shoddy as it is now......

Don't spend 5 grand on that, either buy a better car or buy a VTR/VTS Engine and Turbo it

If you've got a budjet of £5k, why not just get a better model? PH2 VTR/VTS???

    MK1's are better

I'd get a VTR or VTS and Build an engine up fully forged and Turbo.

I know it sounds daft right, but I like the idea of making something a whole lot better myself (pride and all) then just buying something factory built and leaving it. :/ Oh and like I say, I won't use the whole budget, probably just most. So any websites to look at? Or places?

You really need to decide what you want from the car.

Do you want looks or speed/performance?

I suppose in my mind a bit of both. I'm sure the bay can be made to look smart, like I have seen in progress reports, whilst getting some performance parts? I have seen a few carbon fibre parts on some other cars. They look dead smart.

Do you just want the bay to look good? Or do you want the exterior to look nice aswell?

Do you want to put a 16v engine in? If so, have you budgeted for the insurance increase?
  9. #9
I see what you are saying. No, just the bay. Not worried about the exterior. It's what's on the inside that counts! Oh and yes I have accounted for any increase in insurance, although it is already a joke. (£2,800 in case you were wondering). And maybe a 16v, not sure.

Yeh I'd put a bigger engine in, rather than spend money on the 1.1 engine, as you won't get as much for your cash
  16. #16
as people have said either vtr/s or even just a 1.4. i've just recently taken the engine out of my furio to do exactly what u are planning to do (smarten up -rebuilt) only did a top end on mine tho looks alot better that it did atleast but make sure you mark all wires unlike i did lol
