NEWBIE! What engine could i stick in my mk1 1.0 spree IV?

   NEED SOME ADVICE!

   
   Sorry to sound an absolute idiot and a newbie but we all start somewhere.
   Basically i got my Saxo 1.0 Spree IV because it was cheap and reliable but i've fallen in love with it and want to make it a hell of alot better.
   I was wondering if i could drop a VTS 1.6 in there or any other saxo engine for that matter.
   What would i also have to do aswell as just putting a different engine in?
   
   Any help would be extremely appreciated.

   all saxo engines are compatible i believe.
   its the looms, interior and engine looms that are the important thing.
   
   sure someone who knows a lot more than me will inform you.

   A vts conversion can be done
   
   You need to think about your stopping power aswell though, and your suspension set up

   It might be cheaper to start off with a VTS in the first place though unless you have a special attachment to the car. Theres a lot of work to do

   Unless you want to learn how it's done and build up skills etc then just buy a VTS, less off a ballace and probably cheaper to insure than a 1.1 VTS conversion

   If you are serious about it you would find it easier to buy a donor car as that way you have all the parts you need. But in all honesty unless you have a rare colour or the car has a special meaning to you id just buy a vts. Only reason im putting a vts engine in a mango saxo is because you cant by a vts in that colour..

    haha was just reading and commented on your thread, nah mango isnt that bad especially with white wheels looks awesome!

    Ive just replied haha. Yeah the white wheels have gone now, well should be this saturday!!
    
    It is indeed and havent decided what to do colourwise so just left it as i'm sorting all the mechanical issues first....its a bloody long list!

    Thanks for the help guys. To be honest I'm wanting to to get experience doing this kind of thing so think i'll give it a try with my mate. If it goes tits up i'll learn from my mistakes and get a VTS

    Not to say it cant be done mind, a lot of people find cooking model shells and convert them as usually they havent been driven so hard so are in better nick. Its just a lot of work if you start off with a carb model
