1 plug or 3 plug?

    Right i dont often come in here often and have no previous experiance with the 16v's so youll need to be paitent with me

    Looking into doing a 16v conversion on a car does it matter if i choose to use the 1 plug or 3 plug? is one better than the other?? ive got a short list of required bits consisting of

    engine
    loom
    box
    shafts
    mani
    key
    transponder

    advice?

    If the car it's going in is a 3 plug then a 3 plug engine loom and ecu is needed as the interior loom needs to connect to it. Same with single plug.

    It would be going into a s1 106 though so the loomll be cut?

    I'd use a single plug then as it's earlier. You may need to change the connection going to the interior loom. As i think the s1 is different

    Ide go with the single plug personally as theyre more common and easier to work with. Wiring wise its the same amount of work really but there is more info out there on the single plug.

    one plug will be better anyway as only one lamba sensor

    3 plug, as the predator is made for them!!!!!

    with the 3 plug and second lamba you have to sleeve it if you put a new exhaust on ect which if not done right could bring engine light on all the time, so much easier just to have the one and have it where it should be

    single plugs respond to tuning slightly better

    single plug, unless you have a bent 3plug saxo donor car to use everything from in 1 go.

    No messing about trying to find parts simple remove it all and refit to other shell.

    The downsides of converting down to single plug is you loose the ecu controlled fan meaning you have to get a thermostat fitted into the system somewhere.

    humm to keep all the sensor plug's from the mk2 loom is a good ideia to just cut the 3 plug's from the ecu and wire the single plug there?

    you can if you want to, personally ide just get the right sensors as the less cutting on an engine loom the better.

    Watch out for the coilpack, the grey plug can be converted to run on a single plug (the opposite is true for the black plug and a 3 plug engine though)

    ok so i need to know all the pins from each loom to do the conversion...
