Turbo Show Car

Is it possible to fit a turbo to a car and all connected up correctly but not actually use any boost?

Reason is im thinking of fitting a turbo kit to a show car but that is exactly what it is 'for show' so not for power/speed... Was thinking of I just have it all connected up like the pipework, turbo, intercooler and everything but turn the boost right the way down?

    Would this be possible?

just bodie it, bodies look epic and you can use them daily... idea of boost is it to be fucking mental quick, bodies can look very impressive in a engine bay mate

to be fair and clean and tidy bodie engine looks 10 X better than a turbo engine IMO.

but what a waste of money just bolting a turbo in!

just do it right on low boost, and keep it clean

I have everything to add turbo to the car, well most things.... oil cooler, pipe work, joiners, intercooler, turbo, turbo filter, pretty much everything apart from something to control fueling and lower compression which is why I asked if I can just bolt it all on and have the boost right the way down.

As said it is going to be on a show car and is rarely used on the road

i dont know about that, but i would save and do it correctly, atleast your have a bit of fun dirving it,

that alone should be worth it.

just a clean standard engine for it imo, instead of a non working turbo.... a clean and tidy engine bay with a standard engine would be good for a show car

Just buy a decomp plate and a predator

Why buy that lot then not get an ecu

Yes it's perfectly possible but do you want your show car to be known as "that car that pretends to be turbo'd"?

Disconnect the actuator. Hold the wastegate flap open = no boost. Or just leave a boost pipe off somewhere out of sight.

As soon as you bolt the kit on and take it for a spin I can guarantee you will not disconnect the actuator as the smile on your face and feeling you will get will clear any thoughts of having a Saxo turbo that doesn't run boost. Just turbo it properly. It will look very nice if you pay attention to detail and buy quality silicone. As some will go brown from heat. Bodies do look alot cleaner in the bay though unless your an absolute perfectionist like Ross.
