You can build a reliable turbo for a lot less than 5.5k

Utter bollocks tbh. Rad pipes bursting?? Head gasket failure?? Overheating?? Never seen this on a properly done build. As for snapping driveshafts... Driveshafts aren't weak -it's the CV joints that tend to go, and thats generally on 300+hp cars. Which by the sound of your other failures, I'm guessing your's wasnt.

In answer to the OP - search dude, covered LOADS of times. Costs range from about £1500 for a low boost, lower power DIY conversion, up to about £15,000 for high boost, high power.

hmmm... sounds like youve got ripped off my friend as if you had gave £5500 to a respectable company youd have quite a nice bit of kit under the bonnet and im sure it would quite a reliable build.... and as said by ross radiator pipes bursting?? And im sure if you would of paid 5500 quid there should be 0 oil leaks!

But yeah as people have said depending on how well you can source parts and how mechanically minded you are can be from as low as 1100 right up to well as much as your physically want to spend really... Starting my boost build soon should be fun
