A little Throttle Body modification

  1. #1
So a few weeks ago at work, my boss went out and told me to have a clean up of the workshop. After that, sit down and drink tea till he returns

I did my job then bought round the VTR.

I stripped the throttle body within 2 minutes and put it on a grinding wheel.

Before, (I changed the butterfly a few weeks ago to for a polished one)

Awful 5/7mm of brass... not very Aero dynamic

Butterfly out, a good grind around the edge to bring it to a 'Knifes Edge'

Quite a good job i must say, was quite sharp

Back into the throttle body. A small little sand with the sander on the bar that holds the butterfly in place to remove more material.

Hideous long screws, time for a little grind.

Ground the screws down for more aerodynamic shaping

Took about half an hour to do.

I never noticed any difference on throttle response . Waste of time tbh

Makes more of a difference on the MK1 TBs as they have a restrictive "Lip"

And doing it on a 406 v6 coupe tb you can remove loads.
Port matching the inlet to the head aswell helps alot

What you had to breakfast and whether or not you took a dump before setting off would make more of a difference lol

If you had a hair cut as well, all adds up!
