Hi i dont want to sound daft but is the manifold on a mk1 vtr the same as a mk2 vtr?

and if not could some one please show me a pic of each one so i know what i am looking for.

    Thanks

They are different. A standard mk2 one has the catalytic converter behind the radiator so easy to tell the difference.

Depends on model year as there are 3 different R engines that were used over the production of the car!

but theres only two manifolds and all he has to do is actually open the bonnet to find out..

what you have there is a mk1 manifold and down pipe. you should have a cat underneath if using that mani and down pipe. look under the car see if you have a cat.

I was told that mk1 would not fit my car ? and no the straight pipe goes form the manifold to backbox.

The thing is with a saxo that has had no paper work with it you know that it has been thrashed so i want to get it running right and before i start anything else. Also it had a few mods on when i got it. the only thing i am getting is some vtr alloys on tuseday as it has steel with trims at the mo. But got the alloys for £30 BARGIN l0l.
