Problem when starting

    Hi,

Usually when I start my car, it sits at 10,000 revs nicely. However, on the odd occasion when I start the car the rev counter goes up and down between 0 and 10,000 revs whilst the gear stick is rattling like mad. The engine doesn't sound healthy when this happens.

It doesn't happen all the time, but I fear it may lead to something bad.

I'll try and capture a video of it happening.

    He obviously means 1k lol,

You need to clean the icv as this is the main cause for a Saxo to hunt for the revs. If cleaning with carb spray fails then buy one new off the net.

The gear stick will rattle as the cars hunting, it's just vibration mate ignore it. Won't do it when it sits at 1k. Or at least it shouldn't majorly.

EDIT: saying this, I've ordered a new icv as I'm convinced this is what's causing my idling problems. Doing the same as yours to be honest

Thanks for your replies, and I apologize for my noobish blunder. As you can probably tell, I'm not that brilliant with cars
