#2Yes
The only way to describe it was that it looked like a Honey Comb
I used a Mahoosive, thick long ratchet to batter it out. It was worn out and started to rattle. On my Punto.
My experience: Louder exhaust sound then on standard exhaust system. Seemed a bit better on acceleration. Failed its M.O.T. But when you got a mate that will pass you, its fine. Stunk of petrol when in traffic or on a cold day/ cold start up.
Sometimes it made a noise that gurgled and splutter when you reved the engine.
Why do you want to do it to yours? -
#3manifold cat or under car cat?
ive done a few mani cats, and had to melt them out, as they just wouldnt bash out !
bastards! -
#4My vtr is decatted with a supersprint decat but the cat I had was crazy - you can see right through it!
-
#6wondered why my vtr failed mot....
-
#8yea ive done one but it sounded really odd with no internals in the cat really raspy
-
#9why would you wnat to do that? just weigh them in and buy a decat.
-
#10Did you guys get any codes on the ECU when you removed the cat?
On my Subaru WRX when I removed the cat I got all kinds of error codes from the ECU because of oxygen sensors. I actually ended up installing an aftermarket ECU that had a cat elimination option lol -
#11no mate
-
#12was short on funds at the time
-
#13did it on my mates gti-6, he reckoned it lost a fair bit of torque low down
-
#14No ECU lights on my car.. The mani was UNDER the car, no where near the lamba sensors.
