It was all fine until i turned it off went bk to the car started it up and it aint running right ? You have to rev it hard to set off or will just cut out and takes ages for the revs to build up its got fuel havnt gone through water etc any ideas on what this could be ?

Haha i wish ;-) plugs ht leads ? Could it be them ?
  4. #4

    just guessin'

Thats what its sounding like that common or is it just my heap of shite ?
  6. #6
    coilpack? sparks?

I had this problem, just turned the car off and on again was fine.

Did sound awesome tho going thru the town with a saxscooby

Sounds like its deffo missfiring. Get a compression check done

mine did exactly the same thing at fcs its the coil pack or ht leads or possible plugs

deffo running on 2 or 3 cylinders

Does the car shake like fuck on idle? Probs coilpack if so

last time I had this effect it was an HT lead on my mi16. It ran on three. I'll bet its a coilpack

years ago my old rover 216 sounded like a scooby once, i melted a piston(s) and it was shooting red hot glowing rocks out the exhaust

my punto did this about half hour before it blew up

I'm going with coil pack. Whip the plugs out see if they are sparking.

Turns out it had a puddle of water between the plug and cap all is good thanks for the advice ;-)

mine sounds the same, like its running on 3 cylinders. also i have like no power until 4k+... maybe coil packs on way out or?
  17. #17
mine did this, changed the coil pack, spark plugs, to find my injector was fucked.. costly, but got all of them done, now changing to 182 injectors...

hmm, i might take the plugs out and check if they are sparking, if they are then coil pack should be fine right? might be a faulty injector....

    Correct.

mines doing same only after unplugging lambda sensor and plugging it back in (only at loom end of the lead) changed plugs, tried mates working coil pack, reset ecu several times, charged battery, cleaned icv, new lambda, checked loom for snags, thinking blocked injector maybe? tried redex but without success. so strange was working fine, unplugged lambda, plugged back in and misfired every since. engine and exhaust rock like mad, misfire right threw rev range, hardly any power, temp of engine makes no difference, idle has started playing up to like it drops and wants to cut out but picks itself back up. if i give it a rev in neutral and let it drop back down it will drop further down than where it should idle and want to cut out again then pick back up. doing my head innnnn.
